Grievances Against

the

State of Illinois

In the U.S. Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers listed twenty-seven grievances against the King of Great Britain. Each grievance was only 1 or 2 sentences long.

On October 17, 2020, New Illinois made a formal, public declaration of independence from the State of Illinois. This notified the government of our intention to pursue the formation of a new state. Since we have a much larger and more complex government today than in 1776, our grievances would not have fit into the declaration. We have therefore been publishing them individually every few weeks.

The purpose of the grievances, both then and now, was to declare the causes for seeking separation. The Grievances published below provide the facts of when and how the State of Illinois has violated the law, the Constitution, and our rights. These Grievances demonstrate the urgent need to begin again with NEW ILLINOIS.
