New Illinois: Creating a New State

Join us as we celebrate the first session of a constitutional convention for a new state. New Illinois’s convention will be held in Urbana, Illinois on Friday evening, May 20 2022, and all day Saturday, May 21 2022.

Registration will be from 3:30 – 5:30 on Friday, with social hour starting at 5:00. Friday evening dinner will be followed by speakers: Rep. Brad Halbrook, Rep. Dan Caulkins, and keynote speaker constitutional lawyer KrisAnne Hall.
Saturday morning will again feature KrisAnne Hall and include a question-and-answer time. A reading of the New Illinois Declaration of Independence from the State of Illinois will be followed by lunch.
