SUMMARY:New Illinois 9th Constitutional Convention
DESCRIPTION:The 9th Constitutional Convention for New Illinois will be held at the Chateau Hotel and Conference Center\, 1621 Jumer Drive\, Bloomington. \nRegistration is from 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm. An optional prayer gathering will be held from 5:00 till 5:30. Social hour will be from 5:30 – 6:30. A VIP reception will also be held from 5:45 – 6:30. \nFriday evening dinner will be followed by a keynote address from Shannon Adcock. Shannon is the founder and president of Awake Illinois\, a grassroots nonprofit movement dedicated to defending parental rights\, restoring academic excellence and transparency in education\, and advancing constitutional liberties across Illinois. She will also speak on Saturday morning. \nSaturday morning will also feature Illinois State Representative John Cabello. Rep. Cabello has been a member of the Illinois House since 2012. He has also served as a Rockford Police officer and detective for nearly three decades. John is a conservative who has opposed the tax and fee increases and believes that government should live within its means. \nAfter a time for Q & A\, there will be a joint session of the New Illinois State Legislature. This will include a presentation by Finance Committee Chair Marty Kelly\, providing information on the financial feasibility of a new state. Constitution Committee Chair Dan Juffernbruch will provide a report on the progress of the second draft of the New Illinois State Constitution. \nSaturday afternoon\, there will be a working session of the New Illinois State Senate and Assembly. Concurrently\, New Illlinois State Vice Chair Larry Mulch will hold a town hall and answer questions about New Illinois. During our closing session on Saturday afternoon\, Winnebago County Chair Dean Barker will give a presentation on election integrity. \nDeadline for purchasing Early Bird tickets is April 2.
